Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

On behalf of the Steering Committee and the 20 member communions which comprise the Caribbean and North American Area Council (CANAAC) of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC), I welcome you to www.canaac.org, the on-line presence of this Area Council.

Here you will find helpful information and resources which describe the work of CANAAC as we seek to contextualize the core priority of WARC of Covenanting for Justice in the Economy and the Earth in this region.

We are excited about a new initiative to establish a Reformed youth network and are exploring ways to do this with the Caribbean and North America Council for Mission (CANACOM). We are supporting seminarians, particularly in the Caribbean region, to participate in a major theological consultation in North Carolina to commemorate John Calvin’s 500th birthday and to attend the Global Theological Institute just prior to the Uniting General Council.

I invite you to browse this site, download resources, post your thoughts under the “Blog” tab, connect with any of our member churches or ecumenical partners, or send a question to me or any other member of the Steering Committee.

We will next gather as an Area Council sometime in 2011 at a location to be determined.  Delegates from the Caribbean and North America region to the Uniting General Council will gather as a regional caucus during the course of the General Council.  In either case, I invite you to join us at the historic Uniting General Council as the World Alliance of Reformed Churches and the Reformed Ecumenical Council will come together to form the World Communion of Reformed Churches on June 17-28, 2010 in Grand Rapids, MI.   For more information visit www.reformedchurches.org.  I hope to see you there!

Blessings and peace.
